Exposure Triangle
ISO
Sensor sensitivity. ISO 100 — clean image, needs lots of light. ISO 6400 — brighter, but noise appears.
Aperture
Lens opening size. ƒ/1.4 — wide open, blurred background (bokeh). ƒ/16 — closed, everything sharp.
Shutter Speed
Time the shutter stays open. 1/1000 — freezes motion. 1/30 — motion blur, use a tripod.
Triangle
All three parameters control exposure together. Change one — compensate with another.
ISO ↑ = noise ↑ ƒ/ ↓ = bokeh ↑ 1/t ↓ = blur ↑

RULE OF THIRDS

Composition Grids
What is Composition
How you arrange elements in a frame. Good composition guides the viewer's eye.
Rule of Thirds
Place your subject on the lines — the frame becomes more dynamic.
Golden Spiral
The spiral's center is the focal point. A classic of painting and photography.
Diagonal Lines
Lead the horizon line diagonally — creates dynamism and depth.
Portrait → Thirds Landscape → Golden Action → Diagonal

Aperture
Aperture · ƒ-number
Small ƒ-number (ƒ/1.4) — wide opening, more light, blurred background. Large (ƒ/16) — everything in focus.

Exposure
Exposure · EV
Total light hitting the sensor. EV 0 = normal, +2 = overexposed, −2 = too dark.

Bokeh
Bokeh · 暈け
The aesthetic of out-of-focus blur. Achieved with a wide aperture. Character depends on the lens.

DOF
Depth of Field
The zone where objects appear sharp. Shallow DOF (ƒ/1.4) — only the subject is sharp. Deep DOF (ƒ/16) — everything sharp.
